front bag sand ?

Is there an easy way to determine if I have too much sand in the front bag ?

I don't think you can get too much in the front bag. You can get it too hard by using heavy sand, or allowing it to compact and take a set with regular sand. I prefer using Black Diamond blasting sand for this reason. "Speedy's mix" - Speedy Gonzales' blend of parakeet gravel mixed with regular sand also works well.

I use "Speedy's Mix" for the front bag. It has been good to go.

I couldn't find Parakeet gravel locally, but found Aquarium substrate made mostly of granite mixed 50/50 with Black Diamond Coarse Blasting sand and it has worked well.

It does not compact hard like play sand and vertical has improved.
