How do you figure freebore with certain neck lengths and bullet bearing surface? DG

If you are ordering a reamer you can send a case with the bullet seated above the neck junction to Kiff. If you are throating it out yourself you can keep throating and checking with a bullet seated in a case. You can also ask somebody that has it all worked out. Matt

There's got to be a mathematical formula for figuring it based on case and bullet. Thxs DG

Seat your desired bullet into a case at your desired placement, then lock your calipers at bore diameter of the barrel you will using and slide it over the bullet until it makes contact with the oqive. From that point, do the math to the base of the cartridge and you will have a close idea of what free-bore you will want. Then call your reamer grinder and discuss it all with them. And/or fallow Matt's suggestions above....

I am having a new barrel built for f t/r and I am using lapua brass and will be shooting 185 gr. burger hybrid target bullets (30424) for 1000 yd. matches, I would like to have my own finish reamer to send to the gunsmith someone referred to kiff who is kiff and how do get in touch to have a reamer built. or can someone recommend a reamer builder
