freebore

I have a XP100 that I'm going to have chambered for the 6mm br. I need to know how much freebore for the 58 gr. v-max.

I have a .060 freebore and it works fine for 55-95 grain. I shoot mostly 58, 62 68 and 70 grains Fantastic for me.

snagchuck: I agree with JohnHenry, zero. All 3 of my 1-14 twist chamberings that are used with the 68 gr. Bergers have zero FB, done with my PTG reamer.

6BR has a generous neck length, so even .060" as suggested by areaone would be good, but I personally would not go any more than that.

You did not say what twist rate you'll be using. If it's anything faster than a 14, you could go with .060" to accomodate longer/heavier bullets.

NO freebore if you're not gonna shoot heavy bullets. With 0 freebore, touching the lands a 58Vmax seats .075" above the neck/shoulder junction. The Nosler 55BT has a better bal. coefficient and seats higher....touching the lands it's a little deeper than 1/2way down the neck.
