shooters,
in the article by "froggy" in the "top 10" articles of this 6br site, the author says one cant shoot a 308 using free recoil technique and a bipod. i have been shooting all my rifles, 223, 6br, 308, 6.5/284 ) free recoil off sandbags, not bipods, not tripods, with some good and other not so good results.
i have a very active heart and "free recoil" lets my rifle be still for the trigger pull, but maybe lets it move too much before the bullet leaves the barrel also???
id like to hear those with more experience discuss when to use free recoil, which has at times let me shoot frequent tiny groups. do i need to stick to the smaller calibers for "free recoil"???
