Frankfort M press

Bought this press a couple years ago off a guy on this forum. I was pretty happy happy with it until recently. I sheared off the end of one of the hinge pins when the clip came off. I was thinking no big deal I'll just email them and purchase another pin. We'll I was told that they couldn't sell me a new one because I was not the original owner. To be honest I was kind of shocked by their reply. Sure I can have one made but that is pretty bad customer service. Should of just bought a Forrester. Just wanted to let everyone know about their customer service.

Pretty much says that in there warranty agreement,….. don’t think it’s right but it’s what it is.

Frankford Arsenal products generally come with a Limited-Lifetime warranty against material and manufacturing defects. This warranty is typically limited to the original owner and is not transferable. It does not cover normal wear and tear, commercial use, misuse, or neglect. To initiate a warranty claim, you can fill out Frankford Arsenal's Contact Form or contact their Service/Warranty Department.

Quite stupid of not selling parts to whatever use it and need it.
Whatever - unless that pin has special attribute - a machine shop should be able to make one easily.
Or adapt a pin gage.

Yeah I could have one made easy enough but I just wanted to let others know about their customer service. I will be buying a new forester Co ax. I really like this little press but if that's the way they treat their customers I will never buy one of their products again.

Is it possible they misunderstood, thinking you were wanting one under warranty rather than just buying one?

That's unfortunate
I bought the same press new, had the exact same problem, asked for a replacement part and the sent me a new press.

I agree ... lousy customer service. I guess my question is ... how would they know? As in, how would they know you weren't the original owner. Anyway ... this sucks and is way different than the industries best policy of no-questions-asked customer service. I would have expected better from FA.

Well I made it clear that I wanted to buy the part and I was honest enough to tell them I wasn't the original owner. The press was new and still in the box but I did buy from an individual. I will post a copy of the email.

Oh I totally believe you, originally I thought you were trying to get warranty but not selling you a part is ridiculous!..

Not press-related: I had a few hundred 357 rounds to pull down (not my mistake) so I bought an FA Pile Driver bullet puller. Within about a hundred rounds, the carrier lost the nut that holds the locking knob on (no idea where it went, despite a lengthy search.) E-mailed them about it (using the contact form); they said I needed pictures to prove the problem. Not sure how you take pictures of something that's missing, but after about 3 weeks they sent a new carrier assembly. That one got taken apart and Loctited upon opening the package. Though it was resolved, I wasn't thrilled with how it was handled.

Now just have to find replacement hardware for the old one (buying a single/few 2-56 x 3/4" screw/locknut is actually tough in the Bay Area.)

I would contact the company again and this time ask for a manager. Make your request again and see what happens. Might turn out OK. Got nothing to lose. If you get the same response then tell him that many posts on firearms websites will be generated telling the world of Frankfort's "great" customer service.
