I had been looking to purchase a progressive press for a while now but every time I would fi lol a cart up with all the goodies for a Dillon the cart total would cause me to hesitate. I would look at the cart a couple of times and then eventually delete the cart as I wasn’t ready to spend that kind of money.
I got a email a couple of months ago that offered the X-10 for $799 shipped. I had seen some videos of the FA press and some were negative and the machine is relatively new but I decided to give it a try cause the price was right. The additional shell plates, tool heads and other accessories are reasonably priced.
I watched a few setup videos from Bragginrights precision reloading https://youtube.com/@bragginrightsprecisionrelo346?si=EeRD6BlbMfhzGF4E and gunblue 490 https://youtube.com/@gunblue490?si=IegP9DG5p9VmxfGS. The setup was pretty straightforward and I checked the highlighted issues in the videos. Machine works great with 9mm. I’ve loaded about 2000 rounds. I did purchase the pistol bullet feeder and 9mm feed kit and installed it after the first 1000 rounds. I loaded the second 1000 in about two hours.
My machine did come with a lot of grease on everything to prevent corrosion. It did take quite some time to clean it all off. Everything was packaged well and nothing was missing. I mounted it on a 4” Inline Fabrication mount and use tee track to secure it to my bench so it can be put away when not in use. This thing is heavy, probably 40 pounds.
The primary issue with the press seems to be feeding cases onto the shell plate. Following the videos I shimmed the shell plate. I did have a couple of hiccups with PMC brass but Blazer and GFL loaded without issue. Outside of a couple of cases out of 300 not fully feeding there weren’t any other issues with the machine.
The COAL, powder charge and primer seating are very consistent.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced progressive press consider the FA X-10.IMG_5051.jpeg
