Frankford Arsenal Universal Bullet Seating Die Users

Anyone use the Frankford Arsenal Universal Seating Die system? I have an RCBS Rock Chucker. Looks like it would be helpful in more accurately adjusting seating depth.

I have one and use it with my RCBS Rockchucker. Works flawlessly.

I keep one around. I’ve used it a few times when I’ve picked up a used rifle and I’m waiting for dies. Works great.

Yeah it’s a good product. Not as precise as a custom die of course but is nice when you don’t have your dies yet and want to make some dummy rounds for reamer specs or whatever else

Purchased a set last year. Good investment . The micrometer is fairly accurate and you can seat many different cartridges with it. I get appx .002 RO on seated bullets. Not as good as my Forster Ultra seater but better than a standard seater. On par with the RCBS comp seater die. JME

I have a set. I found that it is not so good at loading long cartridges, something over 3.5 inches col. The micrometer markings are no longer there because you have backed out the cap so much the threads are showing and no markings there. You lose track of the rotations at that point. My example is a 270 win cartridge with berger 170 eol, the length I load this combo is way too long for this die. Still used it and it worked, but the missing markers kind of make the whole micrometer aspect moot.

Also I found that the seating stem sometimes contacts the bullet meplat at the rim of the stem causing it to jam a bit or mess up the meplat if you went too fast. This might not be an issue if the bullet was already seated straight, but if you used the window, then that is not guaranteed.

Thanks all. Just ordered it. Hoping it will help. I just hate having to adjust the screw a little at a time and then go over seating depth.

i have one, had it about 3 months. I've found that I've had to polish the seating stems a bit so they don't leave marks on the bullets. I do like the repeatability. I use it for cartridges that Wilson doesn't provide a micro seater for....... now to make a 17 & 20 sleeve for it....
