Fox Family Expands

How long are you going to let them stay your neighbors as they JUST LOVE TO CHICKENS and they DO make NICE COATS, but that's just ME.

These guys will be free and clear to stay. They are in a back thicket which they are more than welcome to become Lords over. I hope they stay close though...can't wait to see their pelts in January

Hopefully there's kits yelping this summer....That is one of the "sweeter" sounds of summer.....

Great pics!! I have a couple I see around my place. I just don't see the reason to shoot them. A couple of years ago I was deer hunting and had the one walk up to about 15 yards of me. I just sat still and watched it then it finally saw me and jumped straight up in the air and bolted the other way.

Nothin purdier to me than a nice prime red fox with a snowy back drop! In mid 90's they were so thick south of town and on the farm/ranch it was nothing to see 20+ on the 200 mile drive to the Black Hills. Several days I shot 6 in a day just driving around. Was trying to help the pheasant population back then when there weren't many. Fox got mange really bad in spring of '96 and was about then when coyotes started moving in. Now I only see one or two fox a winter and have to stop and watch them through glass in binoc's and not a scope. Sure do miss seeing them! :(

Tired of seeing the coyotes that are now so road shy from all the electronic calls and people who think they can shoot, especially dumping mags with their AR's! Those gents that 'watched a couple o vids or tv shows on calling'. Miss the 'good ol days'!

Thanks for the nice pics Greg.

we have a good many Red Fox around here I see them quite often..Have you ever heard one Scream ? wow! I have heard talk of all kinds of things over the years from black panthers to Sasquatch. well I had one scream about 3am right in my back yard..I was out bed hit the floor and was reaching for a gun..Scared..I though oh no Big Foot for sure.. lol..
But it was a red Fox...

The kits were playing again last night and they were barking back and forth quite a bit. It's and interesting sound for sure

Trust me you hear that in the middle of the night it plays with your mind and it is unreal how loud they really can be when you are close...scared the heck out of me.. I have coon hunted a lot when I was younger and I remember once we had a few big coon hounds come back to us and would not leave us a friends dad said lets just walk slowly back to the truck...you want to have the hair stand up on the back of your neck.So I have spent a good bit of time in the woods and hunted after dark and have never heard anything like that before..

Beautiful animals! Last week I saw a dark red one with black markings in my backyard just south of Pittsburgh. It was the first one I've seen with that coloring but I did find similar pics on line.
