forster three way cutter?

Anybody care to comment on the three way cutter when used w/ a Forster case trimmer? Seems like a great time saver, if it does a good job.

I use an RCBS 3-way trim tool and love it, didn't even know Forster made one.

The RCBS has interchangable pilots so you don't need a complete tool for each caliber, just change the pilot.

Forster introduced a three way cutter last year, but I havn't heard much about it. I really like my Forster Case trimmer, and would love to get rid of the inside and outside chamfering steps.

I use one for .243 and .308 Long Range loads. It does a terrific job. Very accurate and consistent. I do wish they would add 6.5mm and 7mm options (not to mention every other caliber).
It is a great time saver and very economical compared to the power trimmers out there.

Watch this video, from a previous Shot Show, for its capabilities: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyc96s3KIWI The interviewer is from accurateshooter.com .

thanks for the video- not sure how I had missed it before.

I use the RCBS 3 way & it works fine after you get it set up properly. Only thing that I would change in it is either TIN or TICN coating to keep the edge longer. The Forester being carbide will eliminate this issue & really shouldn't need replacing for an extremely long time.

I often considered getting a Forster trimmer with "3 way" cutter but instead I bought Giraud Trimmer, which has been IMHO the best investment in reloading gear yet.

+1 I have 2 the 22cal & 30cal and would not be with-out them... I would like to see them in 6.5 & 7mm also.~Danny

Have .243 and .22 Forster 3 ways, work good, only comments about this style cutter is it works best if the case mouths fit the pilot well (minimum clearance) I found with different brands of brass (neck thickness) needed to have different pilots that the OD was 'adjusted' slightly to fit after resizing to my preferred neck diameter.

Tried with fired brass at first like you are supposed to but found the neck to pilot fit was too sloppy to cut concentric consistently.

The old RCBS 3-way works great, once adjusted.
But it is a pain to adjust.

That video does not show the adjustment process, so we don't know if we want to buy the Forster or not.

The forester comes pre adjusted from them. They are adjustable but in most cases the factory gets it real close.
