Forster neck bushings

Redding is now recommending only .001 neck tension from .002-.003 before. Forster is still recommending.002. Any one using the Forster bushing with one thousandth neck tension? Thank you for your consideration,Ron

A lot depends on your projectile diameter,
brass neck thickness, neck clearance and
intended use. Test is best way to determine correct neck tension

I'm loading 300 wsm, .015 wall thickness . Redding would be 337 bushing for .001 neck tension . Forster still recommends .002 neck tension. The bushings are not interchangeable. Just curious as to members using Forster bushing with .001 smaller than calculated like the Redding bushings.

Do you really have to ask what works?
I suspect the membership here knows more about it than Wilson and Redding combined.

I quest I was wrong to ask . Not the forum for me.
No offense intended.
But I suspect you can determine the proper bushing size by yourself without relying on Redding. If you analyze die bushing sizes too long you will be looking for .0005 increment bushings. I have a few of those from Neil Jones for his ancient aluminum neck dies.
A .001 might be ok if you have a lot of shank in the neck. I use .002 with short 6mm bullets but to get to an avg of .002 with my brass I wound up using a .0005 increment neck bushing for RP brass in a late 70s Rem 40X-BR.
You may be looking for .001 or .002 but you might get the choice between .0015 and .0025.

Nenwbie Question have a 6 mm ppc with .262 neck chamber and new barrel. Purchased redding 6 mm ppc usa s neck bushing die set. Turned brass to .261 to fit in chamber. Question what size bushings do I order?

.261 is a little tight- .260 would be better. I would suggest getting .256, .257,& .258 bushings. I don't believe the Redding USA die will be the best fit. Harrell's Precision would be a much better choice.
