Forster die for .308

My.308 brass is coming out of my chamber @ about .345 nk, ... I'm FL resizing in my Forster die,and it reads .335.... A loaded round in some of my older Winchester brass measures .335 to about .336 is this ok? The bullet seems tight enough! Also I bought per your advise, some lapua brass...seated a bullet and it measures about .338,to.339 ....Should I leave the die alone? or discard the Winchester brass, and have the die honed .002 or so, and stick with the thicker Lapua brand.

There are two things you can accomplish with minimal neck sizing:,1)control the tension,2)maximize brass life. What's your objective? Using a bushing die allows you flexibility in adapting to brass brands and variances. Modifying your current die limits your options. Throwing away good brass is counter-productive if you're looking to extend brass life.

Both, and accuracy, thanks for the reply. I guess I should probably get a bushing die, is there anything wrong with the Forster bushing dies? Or stick with the redding... Also I read about brass build up @ the shoulder? is this a problem? Or is it of little concern to me? thanks again any advise is helpful!

Nothing at all wrong with Forster dies; they're as good as any. Their bushing die will also bump the shoulder, which the Redding won't. However, Forster doesn't,at the present time) offer a FL bushing die.

I believe the brass build-up problem was resolved with case lube and de-burring. Apparently, a problem with galling.

I sent my Forster .308 FL sizing die body back to Forster and had it honed out to .330" neck for $10.

Forster now offers a Bushing bump die:
