man, everywhere I look the Forster micrometer comp seating die has been back ordered for a while now. Anyone have the scoop on what's going on?

It is probably just high demand as way more people reloading now than ever before to save money. Pick a different brand or try ebay as there tons of ad's on there.

Have you tried contacting Forster directly? I know that they sell all the parts that make up their micrometer seating die individually ... Having said that if you are in desperate need of one you could purchase a different cartridge in the same caliber that uses the same length die body ( example: 22br or 22-250) and then ask them for a 223 sliding chamber.

look at the whiden die. I have both and like the whidden better.

There is another option , john's seating die is a replica of forsters setup with a small variation in the way the seating stem rides in the sliding chamber... I have many of John's dies , they are very nice but.... I prefer the forsters as far as micrometer seating dies go.
