I have a co-axial primer seating tool that I have had for ever and have never used it. I was wondering what experience you guys have had with this tool I have always used the lee priming tool and was just wondering if you can get the same feel with the co-axial and what it take to set it up for different cases with the adjustable jaws that the rim fits into? Thank You, RW

Assuming that you are asking about the Forster co-ax-primer tool, I can only say that it is the same tool as what comes on the Forster Bonanza co-ax press, which worked quite well for me for a number of years until back and shoulder injuries made it impossible for me to prime on the press. I got used to the "feel" on the press and I got used to the "feel" using a hand primer. It has been pretty well proved to me that the "feel" of the primer hitting the bottom of the pocket signifies not much at all, since even after uniforming pockets and buying "match" or "br" primers will not guarantee the same seating.

If you combine a primer pocket that was deeper than your uniformer and a primer on the edge of the allowed tolerance either way, long or short, you can and will get a false bottom "feel" which changes the firing pin strike. Unless you have custom made and super precise premium grade everything, rifle, tools, components----it matters not a whit. If it matters a whit, you will use the K&M deluxe primer seater which will, when used correctly, measure the primer pocket depth and the height of the primer you are about to stuff into it, and allow you to set the same "crush" for the same strike by the pin on each and every round you shoot. Does this make a difference? Some people think so-- I do. I have one and use it on cases I load for match (rifle) shooting. It is one of the few things I can point to as having made demonstratable difference in my groups as it has eliminated a lot of flyers that were not my own fault. Now, if someone could just develop a tool that wouldl fix the ones that ARE my fault................

I have one. I bought it after being impressed by the priming mechanism on the Co-Ax and wishing for a primer magazine. It is aluminum rather than cast iron so it is light and needs to be held down. The small primer plunger spring on mine is crunchy on compression so the "feel" is destroyed. I need to fettle it. I still use the one on the Co-Ax. If you have one then take it out for a "spin".
