With Lapua 6mm BR drying up again is Alpha a reasonable alternative? That's for forming it to 30BR.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Did not try Alpha in 30BR but Peterson is working well for me. Alpha did not work well for me in my 260AI. Had to reduce the load too much to avoid pressure. With Lapua 6mm BR drying up again is Alpha a reasonable alternative? That's for forming it to 30BR.

I agree with Peterson over Alpha for forming to anything. The Alpha brass (OCD) is harder and IMO doesn't't even form to the chamber well when used as intended. It is a hard brass recipe and just doesn't really seem to grow at all at the .200 line. It's an issue well documented with Alpha 6BRA brass.Did not try Alpha in 30BR but Peterson is working well for me. Alpha did not work well for me in my 260AI. Yes, absolutely that could have been the issue. It simply did not act like Lapua or Peterson in my chamber.I agree with Peterson over Alpha for forming to anything. @Bill Norris the "pressure" you refer too may not have been pressure at all. It could have been the same issue people contribute pressure issues to with the Alpha BRA, The walls of the case don't ever blow out and grab the chamber wall, causing the case head to slam back into the bolt face and giving hard bolt lift and flattened primers.
