Forend Rails... really, why do we need three sizes?!

I've got two stocks with rails that work fine with my Duplin bipod and one that doesn't have a rail insert, so while I was at Camp Perry walking through the Champion shop I noticed that they had both Anschutz and Freeland rails. Now I know just looking at the rail in my stocks that they are not as wide as an Anschutz, so I picked up a Freeland.... DOH! The neat little "works with either kind of rail" feet on the bipod don't fit in the new rail (really glad I tried to fit them before I installed it.)

Now, what rail is it that I actually need? There is apparently a third version out there...

The Anschutz has a .520 slot, the Freeland has a .450 slot, and I need a .500.

Gimme a break, really, who's idea was that? and who makes it?

I thnk Duplin fits Anschutz rails by default....that should work well for you.

Tell that to Ray Bowman, the rail on a PR&T is a .507 slot, which perfectly fits the little tabs on a Duplin.

I just buy the Anschutz rail from Champion's or Creedmore, ive never had a problem with it not fitting. Now there is a third rail system, with the advent of tube guns and space guns such as the elisio and WOA. The tubes on those use a t-nut like you would use to clamp things on a milling machine.

Yeah I found the sled you can buy from sinclairs doesn't fit the ril on the lowboy. Turns out the slider nuts on the sinclair sled are aluminium and file real easy.

No complaints with my duplin though
