For those who have been waiting for Micrometer Adjustable Reamer Stops

I will be shipping 300 sets of Micrometer Adjustable Reamer Stops to PT&G next week. They should have them in two weeks. They have a lot of back orders. I will ship 500 more sets in the next few months. I know there are a lot of folks who have been waiting on them.

This 8 piece kit makes chambering a barrel easier, and is for use by experienced gunsmiths and machinists only. Detailed instructions are included.

My skill set wasn't adequate to use it properly...I am sure it is a usable kit for many that chamber barrels, but I have developed a method, before I bought the kit, and it works quicker for me...I guess it is just when one develops a habit it is hard to accept a new method..

And I wondered, if the person using it was a machinist why couldn't they make/design a technique and or method for doing the same task.

This tool is not for everybody, every machinist or gunsmith has his own methodology.

On the other hand is simplifies a process and makes the reamer become a micrometer allowing precision depth cutting. You don't have to undercut a chamber once, having to set it back and you will appreciate this tool. This tool allows the user to remove the reamer/tail stock an not loose ones relational data point with the barrel tenon. If one is doing multiple barrels for the same rifle, the tool can be set and reused multiple times resulting in identical chambers. It also is a great tool to be used with a throating reamer.

I have made and sold over 2000 of these tools and Eddie is the only person having bought one who was not satisfied with the tool. I can't make the tool mush simpler to use. There are a number of You tube videos on the internet showing these tools in use. One comes to mind "Bob Pastor the Viper" has a very good you tube video on chambering using this tool. Steve Acker's Gunsmith/Machinist Book number Two has a chapter on using this tool. I get many responses saying, "wish you had made this tool 20 years ago".

You don't have to undercut a chamber

I agree, I do not believe it is necessary to undercut a chamber. I thought the ad was worded in a strange way, machinist and gunsmiths only?

Then there is that old quote that goes something like no one knows how close they are to finishing a chamber so check often.
