flyers related to wolf primers????

got my 6br back from cooper and have been working up loads in it. I am using wolf small rifle magnum primers for my first time ever. seems that i am getting more flyers than i ever have and was wondering if the primers are the problem. can anyone else out there relate to this?

I am curious - what twist is your Cooper 6mmBR? Mine is an 8 twist, and my groups have improved with the 105 Hornady A Max over 30 gr. Varget and CCI 450 primers. I don't use Wolf primers. BTW, why was your rifle returned to Cooper?

my 6br is a 14 twist. i have been working up loads with 70 and 55 grain bullets and both shoot great. I returned the rifle to cooper after not being able to get it to meet their half inch guarantee. they said the barrel was loose and the threads were compressed and rebarreled it with a 26 inch tube. i just got it back on the 1st of july and have put several loads through it and it is shooting the way it should now.

Most of the time when someone has had a problem with the Wolf magnum primers, it's been due to not getting them seated fully into the bottom of the primer pocket. They're slighty oversized in dia. relative to most other brands of primers, and the magnums have a very tough cup. Most of the time, I prefer to use my RCBS hand priming tool, but with Wolf magnums, I revert back to a ram prime tool that gives more leverage - just to be certain I've got them fully seated. Both large & small Wolf magnums have given excellent results in my rifles when seated this way.

The mag russians will stand the strain of the 6br better than the standard primers will do. As mentioned above they have thicker cups is all, other than that they are the same mixture as the standard primers....
