Florida IBS 600 yard Championship 2019

Well, I can not speak for all, obviously, but 29.7 to 29.9 H4895, behind one of your great bullets will do. Seating depth may be more important to test. Still likely to be in the 70's, unless we get a huge cold front come barreling down. You guys up North, just keep the back door closed;)
Steve
The ten day forecast from The Weather Channel says the highs will be near 70, and the lows near 50.

Thanks Steve!

What velocity are you normally running with your BRA?

Few, except Steve, will respond as the rest of us are dufus's compared to you and Steve. Steve is not shooting because of his health. I just re-built one of my BRA's as it was so disappointing. Going to shoot an old Dasher that runs in the low 3,000 fps with 33.5 gr of Varget. Only heavy, it currently has 40 consecutive shots over two shoots on the "knuckle" of a gong during our monthly 600 yard steel shoots.

One BRA I will use for LG is shooting 32.1 gr. of Varget at 2960 fps. With forecast temperatures in the low 70's for a high and higher 50's for a low at dawn, it will be way nicer than that refrigerator we shot through in Georgia last Fall. I would load and tune for 60's to 70's and feel certain that will be the conditions.

Tuning a new BRA barrel with your Hammers on a totally re-built Wheeler stock at Bob Davidson't range Tuesday. It is not something I will use for the shoot unless a miracle test happens. Bob knows you are coming. He has a car show in Sarasota on Saturday. Said he will try to visit the range Friday or Sunday just to say "Hi".

Get on down here, practice a bit Thursday or Friday, then start your quest for 2019 glory.

Thanks For the info!

I plan on getting to the range possibly Thursday afternoon with the intention of shooting Friday! I’ve got a new Lederer Barrel that shot very well with Hammers, but really came to life shooting the 105 Gungnirs this last week. Here at the house it was windy and 40 degrees. Looked like 30.5 of H4895 drilled a hole as did 31.0 grain.

Just have to get down there and see what works! I’m going to try and not embarrass myself too badly!

Thanks

Cabin fever will do that’s!

At some point Friday afternoon we may have to close down the practice. Need to set up the final target line with steel before leaving. The practice line, where you set up your own target frames (supplied) and maybe cameras or E targets, is better done morning or early afternoon. Thursday should be available the full day to practice. Not sure how much involvement the general public will have using the range Thursday or Friday morning. It's always some but usually is no bother to the competition shooters.

I plan on doing RSO duties Friday and maybe some Thursday also. It will be a positive experience for those wanting to practice.

Things are firming up for the match. 35 entrants, forms/checks, phone or email confirmed. Will continue taking confirmations by phone or email ending 5:00 PM Friday Jan 25th. Limit of 45 shooters.

Just opened the package from SEB. 6 rear rests. 3 Big Foot and 3 Standard rear bags. A very sincere thank you Sebastian. You are always there to support these events.

He along with you and others will be front and center to be thanked for all the hard work done.

What a great group on this match committee. Steve

Me?????? On the back of the T- shirt. That is hiliarious. In all fairness, there are a lot of people that are stepping up to the plate to try, and make sure this IBS FL State match is a big success. Larry M, you, Steve and Larry T. are going over, and above to see to it that everything gets done. From what I have seen there are many others that deserve credit for stepping up to help out. Doug

Loo up the weather for the weekend
64 for the hi lower 40 at night 10% chance of rain
We’ll know you can’t depend on the weather forecast sense the government took over

Looked this morning. Does seem to be one of the colder weeks of the season. Sure going to make it easier for the northern guys to be the "Florida Champion".

We Florida boys will be shaking in our parkas and lose trigger feel through the thick gloves. Darn "Yankees" are gonna be in shorts and "T" shirts enjoying the 64 degree sunshine while we freeze. Our tunes will be awful in the cold and they will be on their game drinking cold drinks from a cup while we clutch hot chocolate with one hand out of a glove.

Oh my, the weather gods have frowned on Florida shooters.

You know me - I'll take any excuse I can get!

Wheeler Accuracy sent a beautiful Blue Marble Long Range Bench stock. Thanks Alex. Also 5 boxes free and 50% off certs from Sierra, 2, $100 certs from Edgewood. Many thanks to the sponsors to offer such generous offerings. We are a small group that wants to grow.
