canuck4570: I've proven, to myself, time after time) that flat base is first choice for up to & including 200 yds., in some bullet/load combinations, maybe to 300. At 300 most boatail loads will "beat" flatbase, and at any & all distances beyond 300, boatails win every time. I know others will say their flatbase loads will shoot really small groups at, take your pick of distances), but that's been my experience.
Hi 4570, I find flat base bullets to be very good at even 1000yds, been shooting them for 5 years now ..It is not the bullets fault if i lose the match..JR..Jeff Rogers..ps .. pic of my H/G target at 1K
some good shooting there.... wish I had a long distant shooting range around my place... the only one to 1K is 3 hours ride..... well I guess that this next summer I will go there and shoot both, flat and boat tail and satisfy my curiosity will be shooting Sierra bullets.... thanks for the input... Canuck
