WANTED Flaigs built 25/06

I’m looking for what may be an impossibility in 1989 or 90 I had a 25-06 built by Flaigs in Pittsburg. The rifle was built using the new Mauser action a 26” Douglas barrel (heavy) with a Flaigs stock. In a week moment I sold it to a gun shop in Scranton PA. I would love to find the gun and if possible buy it back. I know it’s a very long shot but I want to try.

I have a Flaigs built 308.
Built on a oberdorf military action fiddleback maple stock steel grip and butt plate.
I don’t remember how many deer I’ve killed using old school 150 nosler solid base bullets….but it’s a lot

Flaig's Lodge was in Millvale PA. Nelson Forsythe was the chief gunsmith there and he was one of the greats.

Good luck, Flaigs rifles or those stocks, in nice condition, are underappreciated.

I would say cruise GunBroker. There are always Flaig’s rifles on there.

Nelson was one of the alltime great custom gunbuilders. He was a somewhat shy, almost reclusive man with no desire for promotion. Also, Flaigs had an incredible stash of Circassian walnut. This is a set of guns he built for me. 1950 M70 375HH, 1952 M70 270 Win, M52A sporter. I plan to list these for sale as a set. It would be a shame to break it up.

As a very young fellow I strolled around Flaigs and marveled at their wood and completed firearms. These three stunning examples brought back wonderful memories. I agree; it would be a sin to separate that set. Absolutely beautiful !!

I have a Sako l461 sporter in 222Mag. It has an older Flaig's stock. Vintage look. Hard plastic imitation wood buttplate. It took me a day and half to get the red locktite off the dovetails and get it cleaned up. I had a very iffy, 2x7 older scope. It had a diamond reticle. I really did not care for the scope but I put it on anyway. Turned out perfectly. I don't remember the make of the scope, either Redf. or Leupold. I really like that rifle a lot. there are some rough spots on the blue, here and there, but overall a super little rifle. Heavy little bastard actually. I wouldn't sell it for anything.
