The Florida State Championship Matches are open for registration!

The matches will be held at and run by the Port Malabar Rife and Pistol Club. Yes, the range has been rebuilt after the hurricane damage, and all 20 SMT targets are back up and running. The infamous 200 yard line has also been rebuilt.

These matches are sponsored by the Florida Sport Shooting Association.

F-Class is Oct 13 and 14.

XTC is Oct 27, with an EIC on the 28th.

Mid Range is Nov 17 and 18.

Tell me more. Equipment etc. I have never competed in a rifle comp, but find the aspect interesting. Thinking the mid range might be a jump into spot.

Mid range is an NRA sanctioned course of fire consisting of 20 shots strings fired at 300, 500, and 600 yards. It is fired from the prone position with a sling, and single loading each round. Each firing line you will get 2 sighting shots.

Port Malabar uses electronic scoring targets. You will need a tablet device in order to score, and also to spot your shots while you are firing. A spotting scope is used to read the wind. The club has a few spotting scopes to lend if you do not have one.

The f-class matches use the same course of fire, but they are fired prone from either a bipod or a front rest.
