FL sizing loaded rounds???

Ok, ok, I know. I'm an idiot. But here's the situation:

I neck-sized several hundred 22-250AI cases and loaded them up for a prairie dog trip next month. Turns out that I should have checked the brass first as the lower section of the bodies are slightly oversize and many won't chamber. Yep, should'a checked them first. So now I have considerable time and money tied up in a pile of useless rounds.

Now the question...can I full-length size the cases once they're loaded? I have a 6-250AI FL sizer that would allow me to size the shoulder and body without touching the necks. I'm sure doing so would break every rule in the book, but I'm getting ill just thinking about pulling all those bullets.

I'm an idiot

Did you say that?

I would never, ever, try to resize a loaded round. Yo might be lucky, but if not. . . . . You should have chambered a few empties after they were sized. Tear them apart and start over.

I gotta say, resizing a loaded round sounds like a idea... But then again when I was younger I would tie myself off at the top of a silo with a couple pieces of baler twine when setting up the blower pipe...

Both of those thoughts scare the hell out of me today.

What is your RISK factor???? Today I'd pull the bullets...

One other thought for you daredevils: I have on several occasions, stuck a underlubricated case in the die when FL sizing. The standard method for retrieving the case, is to tap a thread in the primer pocket, then using an appropriate screw inserted in a thimble, turn it into the thread until the case withdraws.

How ya gonna do this with a loaded round stuck in the die???????? Better re-think this before you blow yerself apart.

The "y'all hold my beer and watch this" thing hit too close to home! Think I'll just pull the bullets and go from there.

Thanks to all who responded.

I have done it using a body die several times. A full length die wont work because of neck dia.
I don't see it as any more dangerous than seating bullets. Either way you have a live round in the die but I don't see where the posibility of ignighting it is.

The danger is in squeezing the head of the case into the sides of the primer in a SIZING die. This pressure on the primer can set it off,not likely, but it CAN and HAS) A seating die is supposed to support the case, most threaded seaters don't even touch the case as the bullet is seated. I'm not gonna tell ya I haven't done it before, but it aint the safest way to spend an afternoon.
