Fixed 15x power recommendations

SWFA has a 12x and also offer a 16x, great scopes and will fit your Tactical build just fine I imagine.

I'll second the SWFA. Very tough " Meat & Potatoes " scope with decent glass, that won't break the bank.

15x is a sorta odd power. 10, 12, 16, 20, 25 are the normals, or at least they used to be. Haven't had to keep up with the new scope offerings. Maybe go with a variable with 15x near its middle power?

Yep. Good compromise power for aiming vs spotting misses for followup

Won't find a tougher, better tracking scope even at double the price

The SWFA are made in Japan in one of their top factories that make many other great scopes.

The SWFA makes a variable 3-15x 44mm that is a great scope and is bullet proof. I have several and they run just a tad bit more than your $500 price but SWFA does sell demo's from time to time and one could be had for that price, you have to look on their scopelist on their web site. Give it a look, they track great and glass is good and I really like their reticle. I have several of their 5-20x 50mm HD and love them and I have many NF and a few other high end scopes. it's one of my favorite reticles of all time and the glass is as good or better than the NF NXS.
