first try forming BRDX brass

loaded 5 rounds 29.5 RL 15 105 Scenar jammed hard enough that it is hard to close the bolt,,around .030 jam,,new virgin Labua 6BR brass straight out the box,,WW WSR primers,,

brand new Krieger .236 8 twist barrel on Stiller Tac 30 action,,cleaned barrel shot 2 rounds and cleaned and shot 3 rounds,,all 5 pieces of brass came out looking very good to me but I have never done this before,,

I took the 8-32 Sightron in the Barrett Zero Gap Extend range rings off the action and the action out of the AICS 1.5 and switched from the 6.5x47L and to the 6 BRDX and when assembled my zero at 100 yards was only off 2.5 inches right,,

gonna shoot a few more and clean a couple more times and maybe load a few full house BRDX loads and see how it does latter today,,

new brass is 1.554-1.556 formed brass is 1.555-1.558

Do you have the ejector in the bolt while fire forming?????

my calipers are out of whack,,dug my mics out and new brass is around 1.550,,formed BRDX is around 1.545 ,,trimmed all to 1.542 and turned necks just enough to get them all the same,,a couple here and there only cleaned up on one side,,

I got 3 bushings ordered and will be ready to start serious load work,,

29.7 Varget wound up shooting better during FF than the RL15,,also have 4166,8208,4895,VVN140/150,,

would love to hit a good node with the 105 Scenars about 3050 fps,,

I`ve never seen them grow after fire forming either.....

Was 1.542" your shortest case, or does it give you the room you need in your chamber???

I try to NOT have them more than .010" shorter than my chambers, it dosen`t always work that way though.......lol...

1.542 was shortest and trimmed all to match,,longest was 1.547

backed up to 300 and bumped the Varget to 30.5 and it is coming together pretty good,,to me at least,,
bushings should be here tomorrow so I can start sizing this brass and loading full house BRDX,,
