First True Build

Jim Borden packed my new action yesterday and it will be on the truck today. Should prove interesting to shoot a 1 1/2 oz trigger for the first time. Getting closer to starting a true custom built 6.5x47L. Hart Barrel and Obeche French Walnut Laminated Tracker Stock next.

Who is doing your chambering? Sounds like you are on track for a nice build.

I am down to two builders that I am considering from about a dozen that I talked to. Going to be a Kreiger barrel though rather than a HART. I am very new at this, so it will be a No Turn Neck with enough freebore for the 129 grain to 139 grain projectiles. Already have a box of 500 ScenarL 129s and plenting of Lapua 6.5x47 Brass. Got the rest and bags, have picked the scope, so now just need loading dies and an annealer. Oh, and maybe some shooting lessons. I missed the 1,000 yard school in Williamsport this year due to hand surgery that could have thrown a wrench in the whole prokect, but the hand is doing well.

Where in New York are you? I might have asked that in the past.

Do you know Tim McCormick? He used to manage the custom shop at Remington. He is a good friend and fellow pilot. We both fly wheels and floats and the Rochester area is an easy hope to get to.
