Erik on the Range
I received my custom rifle ain January and between taking care of my new son, finding a new job and live in general, I hadn't gotten much time to shoot, other than to do load development using a technique very similar to the one Erik Cortina started a topic on. Well finally, after 7 months, I finally took it out for a test run at 600 yards today. Conditions were pretty good, other than the wind and the fact that the grass at 300 yards was long enough that I had to time a couple shots to when the wind blew it out of the way.
Temp: 74
Baro" 29.87
Wind: variable from about 7mph to about 9mph, and switching from 10 o'clock to 3 o'clock
it was slightly overcast today.
Here's my target, I only fired 7 rounds because this was a last minute thing, I was actually going to do pistol shooting but thought what the heck and put the rifle gear in the truck too. I cranked 13.25MOA on the sciope and let loose First 2 sighters, I adjusted the scope the 2MOA I guessed I needed and fired the next five without changing anything.
Here's a close up of the 5 shot group
I'm still relatively new to the shooting game, having a grand total of 3 matches under my belt, and not a huge amount of trigger time, so I'm pretty happy with how this group turned out.
I've received a lot of advice and help from folks on this forum, it looks like my reading up and practicing is starting to pay off some. Thanks to all who have helped me out.
Oh, did I mention that I forgot my key to the trailer and had to use a 500 yard target that someone had left out.
