First shots out of Tikka T1X

I fired a few shots out of my new T1X. After adjusting the scope after the first shot, I fired 2 3 shot groups at 35 yds. with CCI SV. Looks good so far. I can't wait to get to the range this weekend.

Thanks for the report...I have read that they are very accurate...might have to have one.
I'd like to see some 50 yard groups too if ya get a chance.:)

and where did the rail come from? is that a 0moa dip rail or did you manage to grab one of their 25moa rails?

I got a 0 moa from DIP. I did not want to wait. I use Burris Sig. Zee. you can get 20 moa with 30mm rings and 40moa with 1" rings.

MarkS - How's the stock? I'm kinda leary of the plastic molded, aka; Tupperware stocks.
Why , yes there's some really crap ones out there on cheap rifles.... Yet I own a few that I plan on leaving because the rifle shoots so good.... What I personally like is they don't change with Temp or humidity , if they get scratched you can fix them easy and because they don't cost alot you don't feel so bad if you decide to swap them out for a nice one.. you can tell what you have as soon as you pick the rifle up some are tight , some are , well flexible...

I have one on a Ruger American Rimfire that is not exactly great it's flexible around the barrel channel but the barrel is free floated so no big deal really on a $250 gun... I have a Savage 10t in .308 with an accustock that's fine to me , once again free floated and it doesn't flex and I have zero plans of switching it out... Now a savage 12 I looked at in .223 without the accustock I would swap out... Like I said you can tell by picking them up what you have... With the price points dropping and people not wanting very nice wood or willing to pay another $500 for it , synthetic is here to stay.... I at this point would rather go synthetic than some of the crap dull wood or just swap it out with a Boyd's etc....

It is better than the cheap tupperware stocks. It has a recoil lug built into the stock, with a slot cut into the action. You can change pistol grips and add a beavertail forearms to the stock.

Two little things I don't like about the T1X. 1 - the butt plate is plastic like the stock. I have ordered a T3 rubber recoil pad. It should come with one. Second the thread protector is plastic. Not big things

The best thing I like about the T1X is it's trigger. It breaks clean, I adjusted it down to less than 2 lbs. I have a YoDave trigger kit on the way.
By changing a spring you can get it below 1lb.

Yeah, there are good and bad plastic stocks. I couldn't tell from the photo what that one was so, hence the question. The stock on my 10/22 was one of the first mods I did - it was not a good stock.

got mine on saturday, shot on sunday. the stock does feel like a T3 stock, but not overall bad quality. The're modern plastic, so feel kinda cheap. I ran a couple ammo brands through it, and even with very little work, had it holding .5in at 50yds pretty easy. I managed to snag a GRS sporter stock from eurooptic, so I swapped mine out right away. I added a new trigger spring and the trigger breaks clean at about 1lb. Wish the barrel was heavier, but for what it's actually made for, it's a very nice handling rifle weight. I'm glad I finally have one, and will be using it heavily in the next few NRL matches. I have the 25moa dip rail on order and a gen 2 pst 5-25 waiting on the shelf for the rails arrival.

Mark,
Looks to be a shooter.
Is the barrel threaded into the receiver and is the breach coned?

Best regards,
