First prone/sling rifle build

I am looking to build my first prone/sling rile (mostly mid range) with optics and maybe iron sights later on.
I am a reloader and the below equipment I already have at my disposal
*Actions: two savage action (long/110 & short/12FV both small)
*Scope: burris 6.5x20 scope
*Barrel: ? maker, length & profile (currently looking at criterion or shilen)
*Cartridge: ?
* Stock: ?
Any and all intel would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Any of the premium barrel makers are good to go really personal preference.
I used to sling prone shoot I used a Culbertson style prone stock and I really like the way it fit me. I did mine with an adjustable comb and buttplate

How set are you on using the savage action? I gave up on them and went to remington clones for better trigger options.
Masterclass, doan trevor, carl bernosky all make nice stocks. Gary eliseo make a savage stock too.
Will this be for mid range or long range? For mid I would do some 6br and for lr probably maybe a creedmoor or even a 243 with a fast twist barrel.
The light palma for a 6.5 or 6mm is great but a varmint profile will work too. If you plan to shoot palma, you'll need a 308 and iron sights but I would wait on the palma idea til you try it.
A good choice might be to check out the for sale section on the usrifleteams LR site. You may be able to get a complete rifle for less than you can build one and not have to worry about working out the kinks.
