Well I'm happy with the day's shooting. I started out with Lapua brass, full length sized it, chamfered the throats, put in CCI - 200s, 37.5 gr of Varget, and topped it off with 34 gr Dog Town flat bottoms. At 50 yards they ran .11 CTC and at 70 .20.
It's all new reloading gear so there are some tweaks to be made. The flat bottom bullets don't want to stand up straight in the case mouths, and the Forster bullet seating die leaves a small ring in the ogive where the edge is maybe too sharp. But the results look promising.
This is the first time to shoot with so much magnification; it's a UTG 8-32 Accushot with AO. I don't know which body part causes it, or if it's a combination of them all, but the reticle is moving 1/4" or more with each heartbeat. I'll have to do more searching for how to deal with that as it has to affect performance.
All in all, a good day in the yard.
