First elk

My shooting partner went out with his Grandson, a few days ago, who he had not seen for a while, the boy is 11, And he shot his first elk with a 7mm magnum. Then the next day, his father shot one near the same place. two cows, 301# and the boys was 304# dressed. We went shooting today and he was very proud because he taught him how to shoot. His rifle was sighted at 100 yards and the shot was at 460 yards. So he told the boy to aim at the top of the cows back and let her rip. I thought that was a pretty good deal for a boy and his father and his grandfather to be able to share.

I need your buddy to take me lol. Driving back from a week long DIY tent camping trip with my son. Saw one shooter bull across a ravine we wanted nothing to do with pulling him up a vertical face.

Been out 4 times now and haven’t gotten a shot at a bull.

Seven days in the mountains make one weak.

100 yard zero, hold top of the back for 460 yards? Must be one hell of a flat shooting 7mm. First thought is he'd have shot well underneath that cow.

No, he did hit it a little low, from what they said. Then the elk took a few steps away , then stoped . He adjusted and finished the job. He said the boy was shooting a 150gr. ELDX.
