First coyote with the 6br

My go-to coyote gun this year has been my 6mm remington, but decided to take the br out this weekend. Called in this dog and he knew something was up as he spotted me move when he was about 200 yards away. He was trotting away when I got the shot off,220 yards) The 75 grain Vmax @3350 fps did the job. The magazine has been modified to feed the br cartridge and it works great. A new follower was machined and the back of the magazine was blocked and a smaller spring was installed.

Nice work! That looks to be a very healthy dog....I'm guessing a male?

Fur looks good too! I'm hoping to get out this week with either the 6mm Rem. or the 22-250 AI. Probably have both in the truck! :)

Andy, I noticed the rifle is LH; can you give us some specs?

The gun started life as a Remington VSF in .308. Had the action trued, bedded, installed a Jewell trigger, Gretan bolt assembly, 26" varmint contour Maclellan barrel, canadian barrel maker), Leuopld 8.5-25x50 scope with Burris rings and bases.

Made it out yesterday afternoon and scored on Two more. The first coyote I called in to maybe 40 yards! Had trouble finding him in the scope he was so close.
I spotted the second dog driving to one of my other stands. I drove by him and then snuck back to where he was. It was a good chance to try the 6br on a longer shot. The coyote was busy mousing when I ranged him at 311 yards. high grass and snow forced me to shoot from a sitting position with my bipod fully extended. one shot and he was a bang-flop!
So far,3 coyotes) I am really impresssed with the performance with the 75Vmax. With the velocity I am getting and this bullet, it seems prety optimum for coyoye sized game! No hide damage and so far all have been bang-flop kills. Heading out tomorrow to call an area that has coyotes, cougars and wolves. Sure would like to test this bullet out on a wolf!

I use my 6br up close to you around Turner, MT just touching the border. I use Speer 80g FB with great success. I will have to try the Hornady 75g Vmax because I like those bullets in my other varmint rifles. Thanks...redfeather.
