First 6mm BR

Hi. I am looking at getting my first BR and was asking for some help. I want to use the rifle for both hunting and target shooting up to 600m. will be using factory ammo as do not have all the reloading equipment.

Any suggestions on what twist rate to give the best accuracy from 100m-600m, length barrel, bullet weight lapua 95gr or 105gr and any other helpful aspects.

Thanks Paul

I'd suggest a 27-28" 1:8" twist barrel, shooting the 105s at 600 yards, and the flat-base 80s at 100/200 yards. The 80gr Bergers shoot really well through a fast-twist 6BR.

If you're shooting factory ammo initially you'll have a choice of 90s and 105s. They both shoot fine.

You may get lucky and find a box or two of the older Lapua ammo, loaded with factory 77gr flat-base bullets. That is super-accurate ammo for 100 yards, but hard to find.
