Firing Pin Springs for your entertainment

Thought I would share a couple of firing pin springs that might bring a smile to your face this morning. When I buy a used rifle, I try to check most things out, clean and lube prior to using.

This Rem 700 spring has more squirm in it than I have ever seen before. I have to wonder how much of the force was actually being used to drive the firing pin forward. And yes, it is a J Lock (ISS) bolt.

The second was on a Sako Vixen action. I hadn't removed the firing pin spring on a L461 bolt prior to this one.

Remington decided several years ago that one size striker spring fits all. I throw the factory spring away and replace with a Tubbs spring, but that's just me.

Those j-lock springs were a sight to see. No telling how many of those exact assembles i have in a box with the 3’ spring. Useless.
