fireforming peterson brass... manufacturers warning

as stated above. is this a cya statement on the part of peterson, or is there a 'real' reason for it?

Warning: Only use Peterson Cartridge Co. casings in firearms in good condition, designed, marked, and chambered for this cartridge. Do not use Peterson Cartridge Co casings for “fire forming” or any other purpose other than what they were designed and tested for. Peterson retains no responsibility for the enclosed casings if they are used outside of the manufacturer’s recommendations.

I tried to load my standard "moderate" load in new , never fired Peterson Brass , and had 12 Blown-out Primer pockets out of fifty rounds , Not even Unis-Ginex primers would "hold" in them . When I called them to ask about it , their Tech told me they should be loaded and fired at least once , with a lesser load than was going to be used normally . I crossed Peterson off my list after hanging up . I don't shoot a heavy load , and don't have to go through this with other Brass .
Does anyone think that 43gr of N-150 behind a 185 Jugg is a heavy load in a 30" FTR GUN ?

Standard Procedure is, to Use about, 1/2 to a Full Grain LESS Powder in them, as they ARE, a Bit, THICK !
Everyone, pretty MUCH, should, KNOW,.. THIS,. by Now ( And should, ALWAYS "Work Up",. anyway ! )
They ARE, well Made Cases and shoot,.. WITH,.. Lapua,. for Accuracy, in My Rifles.

I've formed 243 AI from their brass since I worked there in 2020. Derrick Peterson knows what he's doing. There head is thicker and slightly less capacity in comparison to Lapua but the accuracy and quality are there. I've never seen a blown primer pocket in any brass. I've shot cheytac loads in testing there that were hot and never blown a pocket and never had one that wouldn't hold a primer after hot load. Not saying it's not possible but I've lost cases for forming Ackley with Lapua. Never with Peterson and I just spun new tubes on two. Let's just be real and understand that some people really believe they have "knowledge" but in reality , don't fully comprehend.
I'd almost guarantee that the "legal statement" was put up because of a similar situation.
When it comes to testing , testing and retesting brass and processes, I'll tell you that Derrick Peterson pushes for the best quality, longest life and safest brass that's made. I shoot almost exclusively Peterson brass now and I've fire formed 22-250 Ackley and just did two 30-338 Lapua's and they got pushed in load development and I have had ZERO issues. 280 Ackley , 7mm-08 , .308 , 6.5 creed , 6 BR , 338 Lapua , 300 win mag and I believe their right there at the top of the list.
Sometimes I think people just over think everything. I was recently at the range and someone inadvertently loaded pistol powder in something cause they were distracted and shot 10" flames out the gas ports on a Savage........didn't blow out a primer pocket . Did pop the primer but held another primer after........
We live in a lawsuit society and I'm certain things needed some legal disclaimers. And I've witnessed them over compensate when they had people call with complaints in good faith. Sometimes people take advantage of things. Moral of the story , I don't think there is any concern on their behalf about people properly fireforming anything , but legal teams look at things differently. End rant. I'll use their brass no matter what keyboard warriors read into things.

Gordon's Reloading tool estimates that load at 58,509 psi (60K allowable for .308) using standard values. Peterson brass is known for being heavier than a lot of others (meaning less case capacity) which may lead to higher than expected pressures.

Don't know. I've shot Peterson in .308 and 6BR, and have had no issues. I worked up loads in both, though, rather than switching Lapua brass loads directly.

Since Fireforming is a Wildcat move, it is just a CYA statement. J M O
Every shot of new brass in our chambers -is fire forming to our chambers.
Forbidding this much is absurd..

If they meant [creating different cartridges with Peterson brass], they should have said that.
So at some point you have to wonder if the people who make our stuff actually know anything about it, or it's use. I don't think this company does.

TELL THEM TO MAKE MORE WILDCAT TUBES, kind of BS to make them, sell them, then not make them and leave them on the website. I need 200 more!
