Fireforming 220 Russian to 6PPC?

I have read multiple posts regarding the 220 to 6PPC conversion and still have a few questions. My initial concern deals with necking up .220" to .243."
I have a 262 neck BR rifle that came with 50 prepped pieces of Lapua and 3 boxes of Lapua brown box 220 Russian brass, no I don't care to sell any. I now want to convert some of the 220 brass. I planned on necking up first and then neck turning to .009" for a total of .261 OD with a bullet installed.
I necked up the 25 pieces of the 220 with a Kenny Porter collet die and a tapered .241 pin gauge. The runout of the 220 brass before sizing it up was .0015"-.002". After necking the brass up the runout grew to .015" which I consider $hit.
Is there a neck up routine that will keep the runout to a much smaller number?
My plan is to then fireform the cases with a load of pistol powder and wax cap as I don't want to put more rounds through the barrel just to fire form.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

When you fire form the brass your runout will change, measuring runout at the stage in the proccess you are currently doing is irrelevant and pointless. Take any factory made brass and measure it, you will see runout from almost zero to over 0.003" fire forming will balance all of this out.

I would be far more concerned about how much runout your cases show after they have conformed to your chamber dimensions after firing and then again after they come out of your resizing proccess.

Will this kind of runout affect the accuracy of turning the necks which is my next step?

No, your neck turing is all about creating equal wall thickness. This is taken care of by correctly opening the necks to ride on the cutters mandrel. When you have the necks turned consistently the fire forming will take care of concentricity providing your chamber is cut true.

just load your ctgs. with the appropriate powder charge and a bullet and use these to foul the bbl ,,,do 1 or 2 for each target and pretty soon you will have all you need,,,,Roger

I think most would turn the brass to .0084-.0086.
.001 of clearance is tight. Some shooters do load a 262 neck at 261 but 260 to .2605 is better. (IMO)
Most of your custom bullets will measure .24325 !!!! Don't forget that..
Good luck, have fun and shoot small.

I have 109 once fired 220 Russian Sako brass if anyone interested make an offer

Sorry for bringing up such an old thread. I need to fireform 100 pieces of 220 Russian. The process makes sense. Just curious if a full case of IMR8208 is an acceptable powder to use here?
Halfway up the shoulder with a bullet that would be fine. It wont work with the pistol powder/plug method its not fast enough. Remember with the russian case taper a full case is still a light load. My harrels is around 45 clicks for fireforming where after firing would be 52 or so.
