Folks, I just published a Daily Bulletin report on some attractive job openings posted on the NSSF Website. We list 15 below but there are 28 total. In addition, Applied Ballistics is looking for a new Ballistic Lab Tech and a new Office Manager. For a gun guy, running a Ballistics lab is kind of a dream job...

Boss, one not listed, but here in central Oregon is NOSLER. They are looking for virtually all positions. As the ATF has control over them, they are strict on the drug screen, even though pot is legal here, they seem to have trouble finding workers as a result. They're even advertising on TV locally if that says anything.

8.5 million job openings in the country. Does no one want to work any more?

Oh... just as a side note, I looked at the Gun University Content Manager/Story Editor position. I was just curious about the offered salary.

Content Manager -- Gun University

It is a full-time position editing 3-5 articles a week. There is some original writing but mostly editing.

I release 3 stories a DAY, 98% of which I have written and all of which I have edited, created photo placements, inserted links. That is in addition to monitoring the Forum every day, running background checks on all new sign-ups, managing 70+ ad campaigns, posting on social media, and answering 20-30 emails daily.

So from what I can see from this job listing, it seems that every single day I am doing the equivalent of that full-time, 5 day/week job, PLUS I am running a Forum with 60,000 members... and much more.

In other words I do in one DAY what that full-time job requires in one WEEK...

So guys if you don't particularly want me to drop dead soon, please consider upgrading to Gold or Silver (if you haven't done so already). With enough new members we can hire a staffer. This would shorten Admin response times and we could provide additional benefits to users.

I read an article recently that postulated that the younger gen is more and more just working enough to get by -- that they like their leisure time. Boys, wait till they try to collect SS!

They don't expect SS to exist when they ever get that old, and they're probably right. And with so many job openings for the foreseeable future, many will take a job, work a few weeks, then quit, knowing there's always another job out there.

One big reason why SS may not exist when millennials etc. need it is the lack of money paid into it today - meaning the millennials etc. are not working enough and thus not paying enough SS taxes. It’s a self-fullfilling prophesy.

Something will have to be there in 40-50 years to buoy these slackers or there will be economic unrest of the worst kind.

Boss,

Sorry, but I have to say this:

The Boss not only edits content, manages the forums, etc., but he also takes time to help people like me get their media up to standards that drive traffic and education. I can't count the hours he has spent on the phone, and exchanging emails with me, guiding me along the path towards (hopefully) success.

Please consider donating to this site. I have an automatic monthly donation that I make in addition to my annual Gold membership. Being able to hire someone to help is a key to being able to keep this incredible repository of shooting knowledge available for everyone!

If there were a firearm industry job available in Fargo, ND, I'd be happy to jump ship. I currently work for the government and would prefer not to. I check the NSSF website all the time. If only Peterson brass and Sierra bullets would relocate here :-D
