Fire-Forming

I know this subject has been discussed over and over, time after time.

Though didn't find anything discussed, that fits the scenario that I am in.

I never really did like Remington's products. Especially when from case to case the inconsistencies are so far off you don't know what to expect.

So I was thinking of taking something like Nosler's 300 RUM brass and either resizing it with some type of sizing die or fire-forming it.

But with no experience at such a task. For one is it even possible? Some have told me because of the differences in the case length it can't be done, while others give me that bit of optimism.

Would something like this even be possible? If so what avenues would I need to take?

Newbie: You'll have to be more specific. I've read your post several times and cannot figure out exactly what it is you want to do? Form yet another wildcat cartridge ? Use Nosler rather than Remington brass in the same existing chamber? There are even more questons, but a cannot ask them, since it's not clear just what you want to do. ???

New brass is supposed to be slightly shorter than a SAAMI minimum spec chamber, that way it will fit any decent chamber out there.

To fire form new brass to your chamber, seat the bullets into the lands. Brass length to the shoulder doesn't matter then, and the brass will form to your chamber on firing. Keep in mind that all new brass should be shorter to the shoulder than your chamber.
