Fire forming dasher brass! what am i doing wrong ?

Fire forming dasher brass using fed 205 primers 105 amax 30 gr off varget .total lenth are 1.535 after fire forming !

Apply a very light coat of good gun oil that takes pressure well (Butches) to the neck and shoulder. Remember to clean out the chamber when done FF.

Not sure from your post what the issue is. Did they not fire or the shoulder did not get blown forward? I fire formed 125 rounds on Sunday with a new barrel. I used the false shoulder method and out of that 125 six did not go off as those rounds were not head spaced correctly because the false shoulder was too far back.

My best results with a nice formed shoulder was 31.5 gr of Varget and various bullets from my 243 stock. I did us a few Berger 105 Hybrids but wanted to save those for load development and matches. Also my rounds had an COAL of 1.82, CCI 450 and Lapua 6mm br brass.

whats the problem,,my BR-DX brass comes out 1.538-1.540 ,,I dont have to trim for 10 -12 cycles,,

6BR brass is 1.550 and will shorten when formed into any of the improved cases,,

Shoot it and don't even think twice about it! Ain't nothing wrong with slightly shorter Dasher brass...look at all the records being set (and ridiculously small groups) with "short" dasher brass. What matters is that they are all near the same length.
