Fire Forming Cases

I have a couple generic questions on fire forming brass.
1)How hard is it on chamber and barrel ?
2)How hard is it on bolt and bolt face ?
3)Any and all info would be welcome

Thanks 222Rem

Never done a scientific study on it, but I would say it is the same as firing any other round in the gun.

You see some people opting to use calibers that do not require fireforming, to save the barrel, but that is because if you have a barrel that is likely only going to make it to 1,000 rounds and you use 100 cases to get there, you have used 10% of the useful life of the barrel just in fireforming.

I shoot several calibers that require fireforming. One is the 6AR, which is formed from the 6.5 Grendel. I shoot across the course highpower and use the short range 200 yard relays to shoot fireforming rounds. Accuracy is very good.

BTW, technically every virgin brass is fireformed the first time you shoot it. I hope this answered your question.
