Fire forming BRA with 107 SMKs

I'm looking for a load to break in my new BRA barrel, and fire form some brass.

I've got Lapua 6BR brass, CCI 450s, Varget and 107gr SMKs. Does 30.0gr of Varget sound like a good place to start?

I used 30 of varget with 105 hybrids. Worked well. No need to jam, with crush.

I would look for some fed primers or CCI 400 that have a softer cup.

Softer cup ensures no misfires and positive fire forming, 29.5 gr. Varget does a good job of forming shoulders as well.

I tend to fire form BRX with 85g -100g anything found - usually hunting bullets that have been pulled and save the 107s for targets.

To the OP if you haven’t seen this thread,it proves that the 107s are a decent bullet and worth saving for targets/comp

New personal best at 600yd

Was able to shoot my local 600yd benchrest match yesterday at Strategic Edge in Chapel Hill, TN. I got caught in the wind a few times and it showed. But I did manage a new PB in the 3rd relay that I thought I’d share! .769 with my 6gt

I do have some Hornady 105 bthp and 103 eld-x gathering dust.

Would you just start around 29gr of Varget?

Any of the bullets you have on hand will do, 29.5 gr is what was introduced to me by very knowledgeable guys, so far has proved to be true.
