Finding the ultimate scope ring grip: Bedding and Sharpie???

So I finally put together a video for scope ring bedding. Not a tutorial "how-to", more of a discussion about what I use and how I do it. Been messing around with different bedding compounds and surface coatings over the years and seem to have found the winning combination of the ultimate non-slip grip for scope rings. Video below.

Forgot to mention that most rings will require lapping prior to bedding. High quality one piece mounts made by Spuhr, NightForce, etc. are very good for having nearly perfect ring alignment and do not necessarily require lapping prior to bedding.

For two piece scope rings, no matter how high the quality or price, will always require lapping to obtain good ring alignment, then bedding to finally achieve perfect ring alignment.
