Finding a trigger group for an AR build

Here is the deal-I am in the process of an AR build in 300 Whisper/Blackout to compliment the very nice bolt action I have had for years(preceded the Blackout by 5 years) .
Now the problem, I remember seeing a write up or ad recently about a new trigger group that was about half of the cost of Gissielle (sp) Timney, et.al and wanted to get more info but early onset CRS prevents me from finding anything about it.
I have Jewell, Timney and RRA triggers on other guns but just wanted another choice to look at.

Anyone have a clue what it is called or remember seeing anything on it. Searches on this site and my other usual suspects have not found it .
Any help appreciated.

Gary

Jard adjustable is about $150. I have been using one for a year and a half with no problems. Some what of a pain to get adjusted exactly to my preferences first time, but great after that. It took me about 2 hours to get fully adjusted when installed, then another 1/4 hour about 2 weeks later to fine tune. I would not trade it for anything now. There is a wide spring selection from Jard. If you are using it for strictly target shooting, PM me and I will explain how to get it to 4.5 - 12 ounce range depending on your preferences. I use it on a single shot AR15 for precision shooting and love it. Takes about 5 minutes or less to convert it back to 1.5-5 lb pull.

Jim, I'm glad you found a way to get a Jard to work, albeit single shot. I had one in a used AR I bought and I putzed with it for HOURS and more than a few trips to the range and couldn't get it to not double fire. It went in the scrap can. I couldn't in good conscience sell it or even give it away. Having said that, a Jard would be the LAST trigger I would put in an AR. Mine now all have the Geisseles.

Your sear adjustment was wrong I suspect.

That wasn't the problem. Every time one screw was adjusted, the othere two would need to be adjusted. It was an exercise in chasing one's tail. As an aside, did you ever fire a full 30 rd. magazine out of yours? If you haven't, be careful. :D

FWIW, I never thought I would pay $300 for a trigger, but I'm so glad I bought a Geissele 2-stage for my AR for SR shooting. It wasn't hard to adjust and it's a really nice trigger.

Hogpatrol, early on I had a single double tap, upon examination, I found I had caused it from incorrect adjustment. The adjustable Jards are "fully adjustable" (many people do not totally understand that when they purchase them), in almost all ways and relatively inexpensive. That is why I like them. Possibly they are too adjustable for the masses. The last statement is not in any way meant as a jab towards you. It is just with the Jards you need to understand how the trigger works, so that you can make it work exactly as you want, with no compromises.

Lets see. chip mcormick, jp enterprises, pof, American trigger, wilson, clarke, etc etc.

No offense taken. We're all part of "the masses" at some point or another. :) IMHO, compared to what else is available, Jard is too finicky and poorly designed and any trigger that is easily set for double taps shouldn't be available for retail sales.

I put a Geissele S3G in my 3gun rifle and will never look back. For a precision AR build, I would look at a Geissele 2-stage. Do it right the first time and you'll never have to do it again.

I am running the CMC trigger on all my AR15/AR10 platforms. They are a single stage trigger and very nice. I decided to go with the curved trigger because it feels like every other curved trigger I have. :-) The flat one does feel good though.

Get the Geissele

I concur. This is what most competitors in my area have gone to for the service rifle and match rifle in 223 AR configurations. They have adjustments and they come with good instructions but so far I have just put them in and used them without any need for adjustment. I had one stop working and sent the entire lower to Geissele and he found a foreign object that has stopped the trigger, no fault of the trigger. But he fixed everything and sent it back to me at no charge and the total turnaround was only a few days. The customer service is excellent.

Thanks for the suggestions---will most likely go Geissele and pay the freight.

I suspect they are the AR version of the Jewell's in my bolt actions---once you shot them you wonder why you have any other.

Again, thanks.

When i started having gritty stick issues with my factory bushmaster varmint trigger i did a ton of opinion research snd setteled on the Geissele SSA-E two stage. Bottom line a fine precision trigger period. Got mine for $219 and absolutely no regrets. Money well spent.
