Got out today and banged out a few groups of these little 204's that some of y'all helped me ID. We pretty much agreed on them being Speer TNT Green, all copper hollow points.
The consistency of these, both weight and length, was pretty bad, but for the price I paid, I figured that I didn't get hurt too bad.
I loaded up five groups on top of a powder load that I've been using for V-Max's in this rifle. My 20-222 Plain Jane. Started group #1 seated at the lands, (not jammed) and seated each successive group for more jump. Didn't see much change in any of them. These groups are pretty bad for this rifle, but with a little tweaking with powder loads they'll probably work for slaughtering squeaks out to 150 or so.
The group at bottom is pretty much the standard load that I shoot most of in this rifle. It preforms like that ---- all day long.
Sometimes better, usually not much worse.
A few of ya said that you've got some of these Speers but haven't tried them yet. I've got around 700 of them that I may as well use for light squeak loads. At least POI isn't too bad. Brass for all these groups is OLD, unsorted, fired many times, both in my old 222 barrel, and now in the 20. jd
