Finally Got Teslong Borescope..

Today I received my teslong bore scope I know many of you have been using for years now... Ok , that thing is super nice.... I bought it because I have a barrel that won't shoot and couldn't stand it anymore, I just had to see down it....

This thing showed me the barrel wasn't as bad as I thought and that my cleaning was being done correctly... I just recently also started using boretech eliminator and that barrel was spotless.... I didn't believe that the eliminator was cleaning the copper and carbon out as fast as it was compared to my other cleaners but the bore scope doesn't lie....

What's also nice is I can now thin out some of the other stuff I have in my large cleaning supply bag which is overflowing with products.... Of course there's a lot of the latest and greatest crap I have bought which didn't work and this is the exact reason I have gotten the late to the party attitude anymore, especially in this economy.... Seriously though if you're thinking about buying one of these bore scopes , it's worth it... Just don't be surprised at what that great shooting barrel looks like inside...

I agree I was impressed with it being able to see if there was still carbon in there or copper.
Only thing I do not like is it’s not compatible with iOS

What I ha no idea. Only reason I kept my old android work phone was to use for my teslong camera
try it. I know it’s what me and a good friend uses. Might be a little learning curve but can be up and running in no time. Of course you will have to connect it by WiFi but the instructions in the teslong box should tell how

So........why doesn't the barrel shoot? Acquire any insight?
Not sure on why that barrel doesn't want to act right it could be the scope.... I looked down a Ruger precision rimfire barrel and was also shocked at how horrible it was.... I have some flyers with it and maybe the barrel is the problem with that one.... I was warned that you will be shocked at how bad some factory barrels are... The mandrel they used to hammer forge this barrel must have seen tens of thousands of barrels... Not really shocked that Ruger has a rough barrel though...

I still use that for certain things.... I only wished it removed copper like it used to....
I know this is not a popular view among the "experts", but I learned the hard way that aggressive solvents and procedures to remove copper created first shot flyers and the need to re-condition the bore with several shots before consistent POI was restored.

But I am not an expert by any measure or a gunsmith or a championship benchrest shooter, just a varmint and predator hunter. I can only share what I observed in my rifles for my shooting discipline.

I play around with everything skeet , rifle ,pistol and rimfire pistol and rifle.... You are absolutely correct the it's in my observation it takes 4 - 5 center fire rifle and about one per inch in rimfire rifle for the barrel to get fouled or seasoned properly...

I have one 7mm Rem Mag barrel that prints a shotgun pattern right after a thorough cleaning. Usually 4"+ for the first group, 2" for the next, then sub moa.
The Teslong is one item I wish I'd invested in sooner. Absolutely amazing view of so many aspects that are just guesswork otherwise. As in, did I really do a good job on that crown? Nothing like magnification to tell the truth of the matter.

Teslong makes one with WiFi that connects to iOS. I use it with an App called Mo-View on my iPhone or iPad. I think the MSRP is about $120 for the 26” long unit.

Too bad you're not closer, I would take all the Hoppe's 9 you want to dispose of even though it's "crap". :);)
I use it as a washout for all the stuff to clean as my last step. As that function it is perfect and it leaves a nice smell. Kind of like deodorant for a barrel.

I don't want to create a fire storm of cleaning debates so I will PM you the secret to eliminating clean barrel flyers. Hint: you won't like what I have to say but I will nevertheless share it with you.

I put test results up on the website testing bore cleaners for the ability to remove copper. About 20 products tested. Hoppes was amont the worst. I guess i'll attache the link again. A few newer products might not have been tested. Need to look it up. I read somewhere that there is noo chemical that disolves carbon. You have to scrub it off.

In this test they weighed two bullets then soaked them in bore cleaner for 2 different times, then weighed then to determine the copper loss.
Having a problem posting the file.

After a good cleaning and inspection, my first shot will be quite low followed by the next shot very close to the X and certainly by the third shot the barrel is fouled and shooting well.
