Finally got out to the P-Dog town - VIDEO

Got a late start on the prairie dogs this year but boy this spring has been good to 'em! They're everywhere! Hundreds and hundreds! Made for some awesome shooting and great trigger time. Took my buddy Adam, so as to be able to share the fun. Managed to get some of the kills on video. Kept most shots to 350 and under as that's where Adam's 223 accuracy started to degrade past minute-of-prairie-dog But we did try stretching it out a time or two with the trusty 20 BR, with a good bit of success. The longest being 690 yards (last shot on the video).

Good to see ya left some fer me.. I been shootin em since Feb. Seems the early warm weather produced a double batch.. I have found em in towns that have been shot out for years.. I spent 3 days up at my sisters ranch cleaning them outa of 3 pastures and she is still seeing a few..

Just got back from shooting PD's in northern NM & same sorta situation. All the unusual moisture has created a bonanza of food for the dogs & the populations are going to explode. We need to call up the reserves because, unchecked, this population explosion will surly result in the plague, so load 'em up & head for the fields guys, duty calls. Our 3 day shoot ended up being about a day & a half of actual shooting because of the thunderstorms that came up each day after lunchtime. Weather was cool & comfortable, though, and the scenery was simply great with snow still on tops of the mountains in the background. Now I'm all excited about going back again, but that 1500 mile drive sorta gets in the way.

Yup, sure was Mark... I think I dialed 1 MOA of wind on the 690 yard shot.
