Filling in Revolver Grips

I have a revolver that I have new grips for, the fit is aligned to where I want it to stay, but the left half has a little play forward and back(perhaps .010") that results in misalignment under recoil from stouter .357 loads.
What can I use to fill in the space between the grip peg/frame and the inletting of the grips?
Epoxy/filler needs to be pretty thin so I can use a needle to reach those tight confines and work cleanly, but I'm not sure yet the best method to prevent sticking to the frame either, I think if I used tape it would create a little clearance still.
So I entreat those with far more knowledge on the subject to inform me on the best approach. Open to any and all suggestions including not to try and have someone smarter do it.

Dabbing a little epoxy is not going to stick for very long. Superglue would be a better choice but not user friendly.
I would look into whether you could remove the grip and put a epoxy bed it (think how rifle actions are bedded) on the back so it squeezes out and fills your gap.
Obviously this requires attention to keeping epoxy out of certain areas and release agent.
I would imagine this is not the first revolver with this issue and there is probably some info out there.

Just paste wax the frame and glassbed the grip to the frame. Use a good, thick mix, so it doesn't run where you don't want it. Rough up the surface on the grip and make sure the grip frame doesn't have any protrusions or recesses which might act as a mechanical lock. WH
