filling an inlet stock

I know some smiths that do this pretty regularly and as a last resort, I'm betting I can go to Manners directly.

But, I like to do stuff myself when I can.

I have a Manners T3. The bottom is inlet for a CDI DBM bottom metal. While the DBM has been fine, I want to switch it back to an internal magazine. I have the original bottom metal or I can get something from PTG.

I *think* that all I need to do is fill the inlet for the bottom metal and then re-inlet for the original. My question is, how to do this on a fiberglass stock. What material would I use to fill the bottom inlet?

Bearing in mind I have no idea how large an area we are talking about, try a combination of actual fiberglass/epoxy resin to build up the sides and then glass bed with epoxy putty as per normal. Use 10 oz. cloth tape and West System 1 oz. packets of resin - both available from West Marine or other marine hardware supply houses. Super easy to work with, set up fairly quickly but have usable pot life.
If the area is not too large and the action screws are fully supported perhaps just glass bed and add pillars if there are none.

Use the new/old BDL bottom metal that is WELL waxed. Tape off the stock. Apply Devcon or Marine Tex appropriately while using BDL as the "inside" of the moulding process. This is a hard quick answer but I think you get the idea. Or you can epoxy the hell out of the opening and reinlet. Either works as there are 15 ways to skin a cat.

If you are converting to BDL bottom metal just bed the bottom metal into the inlet.

If you are converting to ADL bottom metal a piece of poly(zip lock bag material) taped tight to cover the DBM inlet & pour it full from the top side w/ marine tex/epoxy.
Silly Putty works well for dams to keep resin out of the trigger group inlet.

10 more minutes on the mill & the task is complete(after 12/24hrs to cure the resin)
