FFL transfers?

JohnD

Silver $$ Contributor
Can an individual sell a firearm across state lines without an FFL on their end? Obviously,
I know they have to ship to an FFL for the buyer to transfer.

Thanks, John.

Yes you can send a firearm to an FFL dealer to transfer into the buyers name as a private party seller. Now some FFL dealers will only receive from another FFL dealer so on that note make sure you have the buyer double check that. Or better yet have the buyer give you the contact info of the FFL dealer and contact them direct so you know exactly how they want the process done.

Handguns must be shipped from FFL to FFL only when using the US Postal Service. Other carriers do not require this, nor does the BATFE.
