Feeding problem 17 Mk4 in Rem 700 SA

HELP. My cartridges either nose down into the lug recess or hang up on the edge of the chamber. Does this whether from the magazine or from single shot follower. Anyone got a fix????
 
My 700 Classic in 221FB has the identical problem.I'd also be interested in any suggestions.I've even thought of trying a Wyatt single stack magazine.Any opinions?
