Feed ramp on Win.52d single shot

I have a very accurate 52d but I have to put each round into the chamber by hand , there isn't any feed ramp , there is a groove in the receiver but it is about 1/16" below the chamber , like there is no ramp to the chamber so the bolt will not feed the round . I use Eley 10x ammo

Doesn’t the 10-X have a flat nose on the bullet? Try something with a round nose and see if that helps.
I have a friend that shoots a 52-D and it feeds fine. Not sure which ammo he used.

That's not a "groove" in the receiver, it's actually the ejector which also doubles as a feed ramp. These were manufactured when there was no flat nose target ammo. It helps if you change the feed ramp out to the 52E version, which lifts the front of the cartridge as the bolt pushes it towards the chamber. The ejector/feed ramp is held in place by a screw from the bottom, so it can be changed out easily. The original left over 52E ejectors are long gone, but a member here and on rimfirecentral, who goes by the name of Seewin, make an excellent copy. This is what I use and I still nudge the case barely into the chamber with the forefinger before seating it with the bolt -- I don't want to be scraping the lube off the bullet or damaging it. I shoot a lot of flat nose also.
